¡°We executed a turnkey project delivering Arm servers and establishing the Ceph distributed open-source storage system to replace legacy x86-based backup servers with XSLAB's storage Arm servers.¡±


Background

To reduce power consumption and costs, we sought to replace our legacy x86-based backup servers with Arm servers.


Usage

Currently, they are utilized as data analysis algorithm service servers and data backup servers.


Benefits

The turnkey deployment of OpenStack and Ceph enables highly efficient management of big data.

¡°We are using them as data analysis algorithm service servers.¡±

We installed 12 V-Raptor¢â PEC nodes into the V-Raptor¢â SQ cluster to execute data analysis.

¡°We are using them as data backup servers.¡±

We installed four V-Raptor¢â LX units—each equipped with 10 storage drives—per rack, and configured 10G link aggregation (bonding) across all five racks line by line.

¡°Thanks to the low-heat Arm architecture, we could install more servers per rack.¡±

By installing four V-Raptor¢â LX units and four x86 servers per rack, we significantly enhanced space utilization.

¡°The turnkey deployment including Ceph alongside server delivery enabled rapid deployment.¡±

By pooling storage drives into a single cluster via Ceph, the system operates stably and seamlessly within OpenStack and big data environments.
