XSLAB announced its participation in the "2025 ICT Device Industry Festival," held at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul on November 13. This event, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and co-organized by the Korea Computing Industry Association (KOCIA) and others, is a premier domestic platform for industry exchange. It serves to share the latest trends in the ICT device industry, such as 5G and AI, and provides a space to experience and discuss outstanding technologies and products to foster industrial growth. The event proceeded under the in-depth theme, "The Era of Great Transformation Based on Physical Artificial Intelligence." The "era of physical AI" refers to the phenomenon where AI technology moves beyond the digital world to interact with the real world, driving tangible changes across all industries. XSLAB participated in both the conference presentations and a booth exhibition to showcase its core technologies, aiming to highlight the importance of hardware infrastructure, which is essential for the proliferation of AI technology. In particular, XSLAB's CEO Yoo Myung-hwan took the stage as a speaker during the conference held as part of the event. Under the theme "Low-Power Modular Data Centers: Accelerating the AI Era," CEO Yoo presented on modular data centers as an innovative solution to simultaneously address the explosive demand for AI computation and the resulting massive power consumption challenges. This modular distributed data center, named "EDISON," is based on the concept of deploying high-efficiency Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and low-power Arm servers inside containers. The core idea is to use surplus renewable energy generated within Jeju Island to power these small data centers.
What is particularly noteworthy is that surplus renewable energy from sources like wind and solar power in Jeju is stored in the ESS and then stably utilized as the operational power for the data centers. This stands as a next-generation data center model that technologically overcomes the limitations of existing, power-intensive centralized data centers and practically contributes to carbon neutrality and ESG management. As such, it is drawing attention from related companies in Jeju, such as Dae-eun Electric. |
